Virtual Screening of Documentary “13th” In Honor of Black History Month

As part of Black History month, Washington for Justice is partnering with Jacqueline Arreola LLC to host a screening of the documentary “13th,” directed by Ava Devernay. This film gives a historical perspective of racial injustice in the United States, as well a focus on the mass incarceration epidemic in the U.S, which overwhelmingly affects the black population, black men in particular.Let’s watch this together and have a discussion afterwards about the information. This is intended to be a positive learning experience, however, the film does contain content that may be difficult for some to watch.
We will split this event into 2 days:
Saturday February 27th 7:00 p.m:
We will watch the first half of the film, followed by a brief unpacking of our thoughts.
7:00 – 8:00 p.m: 1st half of film
8:00 – 8:30 p.m: brief discussion

We will watch the remainder of the film, and have a productive discussion afterwards regarding the content.
