Community Celebrations in Washington

Washington, Iowa, has a long history of fun events and festivals that take place throughout the year!

The first weekend in June always features our Summer Classic festival, including Ridiculous Day on the first Saturday in June. Washington’s Ridiculous Day is one of the longest-running “Ridiculous Days” in the state—and it’s still one of the best! The whole weekend is full of fun family activities, a parade, live music and more.

In July, Washington’s art community hosts a Gallery Walk to invite everyone to see their talents on display. A variety of events and open houses take place in Washington over the last two weeks of July.

In the fall, join us for the Craft Fair in September and Oktober Madness—an all-ages Halloween event. In December, the Candle Light Tour of Homes allows the public to tour beautifully decorated historic homes, providing a warm and festive holiday experience.
