Washington Parks + Rec

Washington’s extensive Parks system allows for endless recreational opportunities and regular places in the top 10 towns in the state of Iowa for recreation & social opportunities. You will find that we offer an extensive park system including:

• Zero-entry outdoor Steele Family Aquatic Center
• Multiple play & picnic structures, basketball court, skate park, walking paths, dog park and an 18 hole disc golf course in the centrally located Sunset Park
• Hiking, biking, equestrian, and cross-country skiing trails: including the 13 mile Kewash and the paved trail around Lake Darling, located in nearby Brighton
• Fishing, hunting, and shooting ranges
• Tennis, baseball, running track and playground equipment at Case Field & adjacent Redlinger Park
• Indoor and outdoor pickle ball courts
• Wellness Park developed in 2021 with multiple recreation and competition opportunities for baseball, softball, soccer and sand volleyball
• State-of-the-art multi-million dollar YMCA built in 2019
