WASHINGTON, IA – The Washington Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a brand-new event unlike any other they have hosted in the past. On October 28 we are inviting guests to learn from community members different than anything hosted before…because the guests of honor are all deceased inhabitants of the world’s oldest movie theater, the Washington State Theatre.
Three haunted locations will open their doors for overnight paranormal investigations. Join Riverside Iowa Paranormal as they lead a night of discovery in the Victorian View, the Blair House, and the State Theatre – which has been showing movies since the 1890’s. The evening will include paranormal investigations, a classic horror film, Tarot readings, reiki, sound bath, and crystals by Higher-Self Holistics, LLC.
The State Theatre has been the site of a fire and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest continually operating cinema in the world. The Victorian View’s inhabitants have reported disembodied voices and shadow figures. The ornate Blair House was built in 1860 and has been the home of many community entities over the decades. See what you can find and keep your ears and mind open as to what may be lurking in some of Washington’s most recognizable buildings.
The night’s events will begin at 6 p.m. October 28th and will conclude at the witching hour of 3 a.m. Discover Washington’s rich history and experience the eerie feeling you can only find in October. Are you ready to see the unseen…discover unexplained sounds…and feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end?
