On Saturday December 14, 2024 the City of Washington was impacted with an ice storm. As a result, residents have been left with many tree limbs littering their yards. To assist with the clean-up process, the City of Washington is providing the following options to dispose of tree debris.
- The yard waste site at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 1065 W. Buchanan Street is open from 7am-4pm Monday through Friday.
- Public Works crews will conduct a one-time curbside yard waste pickup beginning on Wednesday December 18th at 7am. The following guidelines will apply.
- Only tree limbs will be picked up (no leaves, garbage, or household debris)
- Tree limbs should be placed on the curb no later than Wednesday December 18th at 7:00am
- Crews will begin in the Northwest quadrant of the city on Wednesday December 18th and will work in a counterclockwise direction, ending in the Northeast quadrant. Crews will only conduct this complimentary service once. Please make sure all tree debris is on your curb by Wednesday December 18th at 7:00am.
- Tree debris should not be in the street or blocking traffic.
