Relay For Life Community is a volunteer-led group where Relayers can come to find inspiration, share ideas and tips for successful fundraising events, ask each other questions, and seek advice. We’re stronger together.  Relay For Life is more than a walk – it’s a chance to come together in your local community to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against every cancer as we come together for every life.

Did you know in 2024, 6 Washington cancer patients stayed 64 nights at the Hope Lodge in Iowa City for free lodging?  That is a savings of $8,000 and just one way your donation is helping people in our county.

The Washington County American Cancer Society – Relay For Life is being held June 28, 2025 at Washington Central Park.   We are asking for monetary, gift cards, services, and items to be donated now til June 28^th.  If your business/organization donates $100+ by May 1^st, you will be listed on the back of our participant and survivor shirts.  Gift cards, services, and items will be part of our Online/Silent Auction. All donors will be listed and announced at our event.  Also, we encourage your business to decorate purple or have Purple deals the week of Relay in support of all those that have been touched by cancer in our communities.    At our event, we have a dessert auction.  Bring your tasty items to Relay from 1-2:30 pm and see how much they bring to benefit the American Cancer Society.  As you can see, there are several ways that you can help the American Cancer Society- every dollar helps in treatments, get closer to a cure, and mission for our friends and family.
