Goldfinch Solar Project LLC

Bechtel has partnered with Conifer Power to develop the Goldfinch Solar Project, an up to 200 MW facility that is expected to generate enough energy to power up to 33,000 homes per year. Situated on private land in Washington County and near existing transmission lines, the location is highly suitable for a solar energy project. Solar power is one of the most cost-effective sources of clean electricity today, and the power generated by Goldfinch Solar will help reduce costs and diversify the energy portfolio in the State of Iowa.

With an estimated investment of over $250 million dollars in Washington County, Goldfinch Solar offers a new source of economic development with long-term local and state tax revenue for schools, government services, and public infrastructure. In addition to creating direct and indirect jobs during construction and operations, Goldfinch Solar will create opportunities for companies seeking to open new locations in areas with access to renewable power to expand into Washington County.
