The City is no longer supplying yard waste bags with the City Logo on them.  If you still have some, please use them for your yard waste.  We are allowing standard, biodegradable, self standing yard bags. Plastic bags are not allowed.  Locally, they are available at Ace-N-More, Fareway, HyVee, and Walmart.

Yard waste is picked up by the Maintenance and Construction department on Tuesdays and Thursdays seasonally (approx. April – October).

Yard waste pick up day corresponds with your garbage day:

  • Monday and Tuesday garbage days are picked up on Thursday.
  • Wednesday and Thursday garbage days are picked up on Tuesday.

Yard waste can also be taken to the compost area located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Residents may place leaves in the terrace area between the sidewalk and the street. Please do not place leaves in the street as this creates drainage and traffic hazards. Questions or comments can be directed to the Maintenance and Construction Dept at 319-653-2947.
