The Washington Police Department is seeking professional, dedicated, and enthusiastic applicants for the position of Police Officer. This is an additional patrol officer position recently approved by the City Council.

Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certification preferred, but not required. Officers work 12-hour shifts and starting pay for certified officers is $47,743 – $65,425 depending on experience and qualifications.
Completed application, cover letter and resume must be submitted to the Washington Police Department by October 15, 2021, at 4PM.
Physical Agility & POST testing: ILEA certified applicants are waived from the physical agility and POST testing. Non-ILEA certified candidates will be contacted with testing dates. Applicants with a valid POST score within the past year are waived from POST testing.
