News Release
Friday, February 14, 2025
The National Weather Service is predicting that snow will start falling in the area later today and is likely to continue on Saturday. In anticipation of snow removal operations in the City of Washington, the following plans have been developed. Keep in mind these may change depending on the timing and amount of snow.
Depending on snowfall amounts, City crews will plow major arterial routes as needed on Friday February 14th and Saturday February 15th.
After the snow has stopped, City crews will plow all routes. This will likely occur between Saturday (15th) evening and Sunday (16th) morning.
Prior to snow operations beginning in residential districts, the snow ban parking ordinance will go into effect. For sake of planning, that will likely be anytime after 5pm on Saturday February 15th and continue into Sunday. Please make alternative parking plans during that time.
Downtown snow removal, if needed, will occur in the late night hours of Saturday and early morning hours on Sunday. No parking will be allowed on downtown streets during that time. Signs will be posted on Saturday if snow removal is necessary.
