Kewash Half Marathon

This Kewash Trail Half Marathon began in 2014 and is held annually in Washington, IA. We have a distance for everyone, a 5K, 10K and a Half Marathon.

Runners will loop around our downtown area then head toward Sunset Park. You will run approximately 2 miles before you get on the paved portion of the trail. You will run another 1 – 1 1/2 miles before the trails turns into crushed limestone.

The Kewash trail is a gradual decline and incline with some flat areas. It is NOT a hilly course by any means, but you will see some short small hills along they way.

Water stops will be approximately at miles 2 1/2, 5, 6, 8, 9 & 12. We will have Gatorade and water and some other carbohydrates as well. There will be a Porta potty at approximately miles 2 &12 and 5 & 9. There is also a restroom available in the park at about miles 1.5 & 12.5 (it is just a little off the course) Indoor restrooms are available at the start/finish. Showers are available at the Y for no charge.

We will have ampule food and drinks at the end! There will also be areas to take pictures to celebrate your finish.
