Free!Jamiah Rogers was born in the south suburbs of Chicago to a singing mother and a multi-instrumental father whose main instrument was guitar. By age 3, Jamiah started playing drums at school, church, and in his father’s band, The Tony Rogers Band. Jamiah enjoys all genres of music including Blues, Funk, Rock, Reggae, Soul and R&B. He cites many inspirations and heroes such as Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Freddie King, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters. Like his father, Jamiah is also a multi-instrumentalist featuring drums, guitar, bass, piano and organ in his repertoire. At the age of 15, he started his first power trio band, Jamiah On Fire & The Red Machine. Jamiah was the lead vocalist and guitarist. In 2017, Jamiah recorded his first solo release, Blues Superman. To Jamiah, the concept of the “Blues Superman” is a hero who is “saving” the blues by helping to keep it alive. In 2010, Jamiah made a special appearance during the Experience Hendrix concert at the Chicago Theatre, closing the show with Billy Cox. More recently, Jamiah toured Europe and France with 2019 BMA “Soul and R&B Female of the Year” Annika Chambers on the New Blues Generation Tour. Jamiah Rogers “Blues Superman” is on a life long journey to spread blues and happiness wherever he goes.
