Washington Writers’ Workshop

Join us for a presentation from our visiting novelist Karen Musser Nortman during the first hour. We will workshop participant’s submissions during the second hour. Karen Musser Nortman spent 22 years as a secondary social studies teacher and 18 years as a test specialist for ACT (formerly American College Testing) before retiring in 2011. Since then, she has written and published nineteen books in three series: the Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mysteries, the Time Travel Trailer series, and the Mystery Sisters series. She and her husband camped for years in a 30-foot trailer and traveled through over 25 states in their retirement. When he passed away in 2020, Nortman sold the trailer and bought a 25-foot motorhome. She has continued to camp with friends and a women’s group, the Midwest Glampers. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and quilting. She is the mother of three with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
