Candidate Forum on KCII

The candidate forum interview will air on Thursday, October 21st at 7 p.m. on AM1380, 106.1 and 102.5 FM, and can be streamed through our free mobile app or at kciiradio.com. It will also be posted on our website afterwards.The Washington Chamber of Commerce will not be hosting a traditional Candidate Forum for this year’s election, instead we will be partnering with our local media to gather questions for the running candidates.
Only incumbents for the City of Washington will be on the ballot this November while there are a couple of contested races for the Washington Community School Board.
The City of Washington’s second, fourth, and at-large council seats and the mayoral seat incumbents Steven Gault, Fran Stigers, Elaine Moore, and Jaron Rosien all filed for reelection.
Submit your questions for school board candidates anonymously. These questions will be submitted for candidate interviews held by local press. The questions may or may not be used, it will be the decision of the interviewees.  Click here to submit questions for forum.
Jim Almelien is running unopposed for District 2.
Kendra DeWolf & Mindi Rees are running for the Distrct 5 seat currently held by Heidi Vittetoe.
Jonathan Bartholomew & Michael Liska are running for the at-large seat currently held by Jason Hamilton.
The city and school election takes place November 2nd, and the first day to vote by absentee is October 13th.
