Living in Washington is like having the best of both worlds. You get the feel of the small town atmosphere, yet you are woven into a small beautiful farming community with lots to offer. Our beautiful Sunset Park is walking distance from downtown. Its character adds to the uniqueness of living in Iowa. The trees, the pavilions, the magnificent gardens, plus all of the other amenities, all add to the intimate charm of the country in all of us.

The Kewash Trail is the perfect choice if you feel in the outdoorsy mood. Whether it’s by bicycle or on foot, the nature trail is a perfect place to get a new perspective on your day by sharing it with the rabbits, deer and squirrels.

The downtown of Washington has an uptown vintage charisma. The unique water fountain, Thursday night farmers market, the bandstand, gives the public a chance to experience the outdoors. With the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, Washington’s downtown gives us all a chance to get back to nature. It is a place where people enjoy great conversation, reminiscing with old friends, and has the utmost reputation of having the good ole’ comforts of home. Many people love returning to witness the beautiful fountain in the park.
