When drivers in the Washington area have a “sick car”, they can take it to the Car Doctor, a one-stop facility that can fix most anything that ails your vehicle. ”If you can get it here, we can work on it,” says Katie Rodriguez who, along with husband Alfredo, have owned the business since July of 2012.
Alfredo’s dream was to own a business of his own to be able to carve out more time to be with the couple’s boys Adrian and Austin. Katie, who was working as a legal assistant, joined him to help make that dream come true.
“We’re blessed to have received the support of the Washington area community,” Katie said. “They have been with us from the start. There is nothing we can do to repay them for that support.”
There’s very little related to vehicles that the Car Doctor won’t do. Drivers can get oil changes, tire alignments or air conditioning service there. The Car Doctor also does brake work, tune-ups, fluid exchanges, transmission and drive train work. You can get your windows tinted or have new stereo systems or remote starting equipment installed.
Car wash service is offered and then there’s vehicle detailing which goes far beyond car washes by removing all seats and deep cleaning carpets with an extraction system. All interior pieces are cleaned including the headliner (ceiling) of the vehicle. Detailing work on the exterior of the vehicle includes hand washing and waxing. They even offer optional Diamond Coating guaranteed to last at least two years for those who want the very best.
They work on cars, trailers and trucks and provide Department of Transportation inspections and sell used cars.
The busiest times of the week for the business, located at 502 West Madison Street in Washington, are Mondays and Fridays while the busiest times of the year are late fall end early summer. But every day is a busy day for Katie and her crew of four employees.
Much of Alfredo and Katie’s time is spent at work but when they are not working or enjoying family time, they attend Kingdom Hall Church Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings.
