Everywhere I turn on social media – I see a dot-painting group advertised, and I love it! I originally began painting dots 4 years ago, after I finding some perfectly round stones at a shop. With my background in art, being a Scorpio (this is a water sign and river rocks are often smooth and round), and a love of all things New Age or Sacred Geometry; it was only a matter of time before I painted a mandala on one of those rocks. Some folks call this painting method dotillism, and the popularity has exploded within the last year.
You could call me old school in that I create my designs free-hand using a brush instead of dotting tools. I think the tools can be useful for someone just learning, but I feel I have more control using a brush. All of my dots, no matter the size, are created with a size 00 brush. I also mix my paints by hand, usually just from primary colors. I feel this also gives me greater control in subtle shading, or ombre effects. With experience in graphic design, I have also created some very popular digital designs that I sell in some online stores. Best sellers include a purple Sri Yantra and an Iowa cornfield!
I currently sell my original pieces at Dodici’s Shop in downtown Washington. You can also follow me and purchase online:

I love creating, and I currently enjoy living in Riverside, Iowa. I’ve even contemplated painting my 6 foot wood fence with dots, but that may be something for another lifetime!
