With a long tradition of volunteerism and service, Washington is fortunate to have more than 100 service clubs and social organizations in the community. Made up of people from all walks of life, these organizations sponsor and support causes, events and scholarships, keep our town beautiful, and issue assistance to families and children in need. We are grateful for all they do to make Washington a better place to live for all!
The Chamber of Commerce has been staffing a volunteer-operated Welcome Center since 2013, keeping the doors of the Welcome Center open to visitors/ tourists. In 2019, every volunteer hour given to the community equals a dollar value of $25.43 and the volunteers who donated time with our organization gave in excess of $64,000!
