My mother taught me to sew when I was still in grade school. I have always enjoyed creating quilts, potholders, embroidered towels, stuffed animals and more for family and friends. I use a Pfaff sewing machine, a Brothers embroidery machine and a Brothers serger machine. I use special software to create my own embroidery designs. I have a couple hundred spools of thread and more fabric than I probably need.
Since retiring in 2010 and moving back to Washington, Iowa from Tennessee, I have been creating more items than my family or I can use. So I decided I needed to find an outlet for selling the extras.
Dodici Shop’s gift shop on the square in downtown Washington is where I sell embellished baby onesies, baby dresses, dammit dolls, eye masks and more. The shop is a great place for crafters and makers like me to sell unique, one of a kind items. I have also made items to order and have had a booth at the REC annual meeting in Davenport where makers show and sell their wares.
